P.T. Marga Mandalasakti has owned and operated the Tangerang-Merak toll road, a completed 72 km expressway serving the route due west from Jakarta, since 1995 . In the wake of the Asian financial crisis and political turmoil, the company refinanced its debt obligations in 1998. Traffic growth has remained steady throughout the years.
