Bharti Infratel is the world’s largest company operating as an independent, shared wireless telecom tower infrastructure provider. Infratel has been spun off from Bharti Airtel, India’s largest mobile telephony operator. Currently, Infratel has nearly 50,000 telecom towers and associated facilities, some of which are shared with other operators. Infratel has also entered into a joint venture with Vodafone and Idea Cellular, two of the other largest GSM mobile operators in India, to set up Indus Towers. Infratel owns 42% of Indus, which is the world's largest independent tower company.
